Hello, moon
Every personal site starts with a post about the personal site. This is that post.
Why bother
Social feeds are fast, loud and forgetful. A personal site is the opposite: slow, quiet, and still there next year. I want one place where notes, half-finished ideas and finished projects can pile up at their own pace.
How it's built
- Zola, a single-binary static site generator.
- The zola-quiet theme: try the two buttons in the top-right corner to switch between the typographic and terminal skins, and between light and dark.
- No trackers, no cookies, no JavaScript frameworks.
The webring
At the bottom of every page you'll find the Polyring banner. Webrings were how people found each other's sites in the 90s: each member links to the previous and next one, and together they form a loop. Hit Next and go meet the neighbours.
